I just watched a video about AI replacing the following industries in the next 30 years.   construction, drivers, dispatchers, waitstaff and on and on.  Technology is replacing jobs.  So, these people either reinvent themselves to shrinking workplace opportunities, or what we have seen before in history will happen.  Here's a little song about how that is going to look.

Stef is merely trying to align himself with the wealthy. It's a survival strategy that works.

Yes you will need people to maintain these robots and it will also lead to more businesses with more competition.

Of course is a survival instinct.  Who wants to align themselves with failures??  I certainly would not.  When you cater to the worst in society you get the worst in society.  This is why socialism equals Venezuela time and time again.

The current "competition" model is much like if the two of us started playing a game of monopoly, but I started out owning the bank, a stack of $5000 in assorted bills, 3/4 of the houses and hotels. Two other players get $200 each, and the black player gets a Go Directly to Jail card.

You guys seem to always have something negative to say about Stef so please let it rip in regards to this video:

Or how about you try watching the video AND engage in critical thinking about the content and do independent research into the claims? Nah, never mind.... why bother when you have Stef to tell you what to think and 'not an argument' as an all purpose retort.

No-one here is claiming that everything Stef says is nonsense. Stef, and his guests, do say things that are true/reasonable at times, but that doesn't make him an overall informative or reliable source. He remains a misanthropic pseudo-intellectual with no expertise in almost any of the subjects he discusses.

On that damn all purpose retort: Not an argument.
It's not an argument because I'm not arguing. i'm trying to get to the truth though discussion.  Debate has an etymology - to beat down.... I'm not trying to beat down,  I'm not trying to "win".  The truth is what set people free anyway.

@Kronze21 You could of saved yourself a lot of trouble with the college lecture. Most of this stuff we already know, but I do not agree with your conclusion at all. Because of course your wrong.

So far I am seeing a lot of flowery technical language that is largely missing the point. It seems you are trying to establish some things as reality with a few nice looking numbers that are not based on any actual data. You are creating data for later use in a debate that you have convieniently designed to make your points with but there are far too many variables that you are glossing over.

LMAO that was good, however you are looking at it all wrong.  You work your way up in the world. Yes you start off at that entry level job or even that fast food restaurant.  You are competing with people with similar experience and training. Then you go up to the next step and the next and eventually you are a wealthy mother f*cker.   It doesn't take as long as some may think if you do it right.  Although I will say this the current system of economy I do not agree with.  We have a semi-fascist economy and that limits upward mobility.  It would be much easier to achieve at least modest wealth in a freed economy.  Even a bit of a slacker could at least get by.

I fact check everything that Stef says and it all checks out.

You don't need expertise, you has the facts, evidence and even many experts on his show.

In a a discussion you need to bring up an argument to why your point is the truth and there's isn't.  It doesn't have to be about beating the other down.  You get to the truth by discussing the topic and within a discussion you give arguments back and forth.

Or maybe you're wrong, did you ever consider that??

Oh yeah, what variables is that?

Spoken like a true believer. You don't 'hasve the facts', you have the skewed presentation of factoids spoon fed to you by ideologues. Without any expertise in a topic you have little ability to distinguish between what is factual and what is misrepresentation. That is why expertise, or at very least critical independent research, is essential. Anyone declaring that they fact check everything Stef says and it all checks out is either lying or  extremely bad at fact checking.

As far as Stef's 'experts' go, more often than not Stef's guests are ideologues but on the rare occasions he does have a genuine expert on, almost always they represent a fringe position within their field. Relying on such people to represent the 'facts' is, as I've already said, akin to relying on climate skeptics to accurately represent the facts surrounding climate change. Not everything they say will be false, but taken in context of the broader literature their 'facts' are often very misleading.

Okay genius, then show me these facts .
